I read about the universal upscaler, downloaded it from OpenModelDB and installed it. It’s working. I found other upscaler there too (Frankendata,Rybu). I remember reading somewhere that they should be included in ESRGAN, but not much more on how to install them so i downloaded the.pth files and put them into ESRGAN folder. Unfortunately I always get messages like: Unable to load ESRGAN and/or this is not an ESRGAN model. Seems putting them in ESRGAN was not correct. Can you please explain how I install upscaler from OpenModelDBÂ correctly?

Hi, here’s the instructions for installing an upscaler.

What you did sounds right. It seems that the file you downloaded may be corrupted. You can follow the links in the article to download one, put it in the ESRGAN folder, restart A1111, and try again.

Just to give you feedback. I’ve tried it twice now. Apparently all the files that I downloaded from openmodeldb in the past and all the files that I downloaded there now are somehow not in order. They simply don’t work. Universal upscaler is installed correctly and works. That’s the most important. There is no detailed explanation on openmodeldb of how to install it, so I can’t determine if I’m doing something wrong. It’s not important, I just like playing with upscaler2 to see how the images change.

OK, let me take a look and download models from them when I got a chance. Thanks for the heads up!

I’m pretty sure the error is mine and not openmodeldb. It would have been noticeable if something wasn’t working, but I don’t know what wasn’t working for me. For now it works with the universal upscaler. He does his job very well.
